Regular wellness exams are a very important part of your pets' health. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) recommends annual wellness exams at a minimum and as your pet ages they recommend an increase in frequency of visits. A physical exam includes the veterinarian evaluating a number of organ systems (i.e. Heart and Lungs, Eyes and Ears, Teeth, Gums and oral cavity, Lymph Nodes, Skin and Coat and Abdomen palpation). We believe strongly in wellness care and have developed protocols for every life stage.
One of the most important reasons to bring your pet in for a physical exam is to diagnose and treat a problem before it worsens or may become untreatable. Because pets aren't able to vocalize how they feel, illness may be present for a long time before you are aware of the symptoms.
